Brick put on gas pedal leads to car submerged in Bow River

What initially appeared to be a serious incident late Friday night in Calgary, turned out to be nothing more than a prank.

Around 10:30 p.m., Calgary police got a report about a vehicle being driven off the road and into the Bow River.

Det. Martin Taylor said it happened a few hundred metres from the Baines Bridge between downtown and the Calgary Zoo.

“It would appear that the vehicle was intentionally driven off the road, somebody put a brick on the gas pedal, there were no injuries to any persons,” he said.

The vehicle was only partially submerged and the investigation continues but it’s not known who is responsible.
