“We were supposed to see each other Wednesday,” says Cpl Nathan Cirillo’s girlfriend

OTTAWA (NEWS1130) – The girlfriend of Corporal Nathan Cirillo is heartbroken.
Cirillo was killed at the National War Memorial on Wednesday in the attack on our nation’s capital.
“I’m feeling very sad. I’m feeling hurt,” says Lili Albrecht.
Walking near the scene where her boyfriend was shot in the back today, she says it’s been a roller coaster of emotions.
She met Nathan online and they started dating in June. Lili says he was proud to be an honour guard and always showed unconditional love for his family, his son, and his dogs.
With tears in her eyes, she explains they were supposed to meet up the day he was killed. “We were supposed to see each other on Wednesday and Thursday. But unfortunately, it never happened.”
Lili adds she said a prayer for Nathan at the memorial and that she will always love him and never forget him.
Nathan’s body is returning to his hometown of Hamilton today.
