AARCS launches first ever ‘Cat-toberfest’ for adoptions

A local animal rescue agency is overrun with felines and to help find them homes, they’re hosting their first-ever Cat-toberfest.

The Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society has launched the promotion this month and the organization’s Kim McLeish said they’ve just surpassed more than 400 cats and kittens in their care.

“It’s about twice as many as we’ve ever had before,” she said. “Of that, the greatest number is litters of kittens, so we probably have about 250 kittens that are either up for adoption or will be coming up for adoption, soon, so we’re pretty overwhelmed and we need to get some cats adopted to make space for the new ones that need to come in.”

The promotion includes discounts including the adoption fee for cats over six months old, now only $50 and for kittens it’s $100 for one or $150 for a pair, which works out to between $25 and $50 in savings from their regular adoption fees.

Those interested can contact AARCS at 403-250-7377 or info@aarcs.ca
