Wildrose says leaked report shows new Alberta premier same as previous one

The Wildrose Party says it’s another example of “cronyism” by the PCs after a leaked auditor general’s report shows a consultant company was thrown a couple of flood-related contracts worth over $300-thousand from the government.

The report links the company, Navigator to Alison Redford and the newly-minted Premier Jim Prentice.

Leader Danielle Smith says Prentice needs to distance himself from the report.

She says, “The fact that this group, Navigator, is the subject of a very damning auditor-general’s report about how they appear to have not kept a good record of the work they were doing for government, so he’s going to have to answer for that.”

Prentice has said there will be no more “sole-sourced contracts” allowed if a new ‘Accountability Act’ which he proposes to introduce this fall is approved.
