Murder charge pending against 17-year-old following death in Bowness

Calgary police say second degree murder charges are pending against a 17-year old boy, following a suspicious death Monday night in Bowness.
The victim, a 38-year-old man, was found in medical distress just before 11 p.m. in a parking lot on Bowness Road, and was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
“It is believed the suspect and victim knew each other through a third party, and that a verbal altercation to a physical assault,” explains Homicide Unit Staff Sergeant Colin Chisholm
They will not release how the man was killed until an autopsy is done on Wednesday, however police recovered a knife near the scene which they believe was used in the murder.
The 17-year-old is in custody but his name will not be released because of his age.
