September is Ovarian Cancer Month

Seventeen thousand women in Canada live with ovarian cancer, and another 2,600 are diagnosed each year.

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and Canada’s national charity for the disease is urging women (and men) across the country to wear teal, in support of education and awareness.

45 Canadian cities will take to the streets September 7th for the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.

The walk is the largest one-day event for the disease.

This month, CEO at Ovarian Cancer Canada, Elisabeth Baugh said, “we are appealing to Canadians to talk teal, share teal and wear teal.”

Teal is the colour that represents the disease, considered to be the most fatal form of women’s cancer.

Details and more information on the walk can be found here.
