Summit for Seniors needs more climbers

The Bethany Care Foundation is planning its Summit for Seniors next month and is looking for climbers.

You can sign up to climb “Devil’s Thumb” with MLA Dave Rodney on Saturday, September 27.

The foundation’s Joanne Toller said they’re hoping to raise about $75,000 total.

They’re also looking for silent auction items and sponsors.

Ten climbers will raise a minimum of $2,500 each for this elite outdoor adventure.

“That’s going to go to help seniors here at our facilities, so we raise money for programs like our music therapy, our pastoral care and as well as equipment, so things like specialized lifts, beds and tubs,” she said.

Toller added there are about 1,600 residents at Bethany and they have facilities in Calgary in the main building, along with locations in Harvest Hills, Airdrie, Cochrane, Didsbury, Sylvan Lake and Red Deer.

The Bethany Care Foundation is a not-for-profit organization and you can sign up by going to www.summitforseniors.ca.
