Man recovering after dog attack

A 61-year-old man is recovering from serious injuries after a pit bull attack in the northeast Calgary community of Monterey Park.

The incident happened around 7:30 Thursday night with the victim taken to hospital.

The dog owner has now been charged with one count of “an unlicensed animal” and one count of “dog attacking a person”

The pit bull has been handed over to Animal and Bylaw Services, where it will be quarantined for 11 days.
