Calgary Stampede Showband heads to Brazil

It’s not just about winning.

Over 100 Calgary students are in Brazil for a world championship and to help kids.

Members of the Calgary Stampede Showband will be heading to a school near Sao Paulo to help out on July 29th.

The showband will be helping out by donating the materials and the hard work needed to paint, clean and repair a school for underprivileged children of Atibaia City known as Portal do Saber – Portal of Knowledge.

“We said this is something that we can definitely be a part of, and they are so so grateful that we are gonna be coming. We’ve got 124 students who are eager to help,” says Aaron Park with the Calgary Stampede Showband.

Meanwhile they will also be competing in the World Association of Marching Show Bands World Championships.
