Tour De Nuit Society denounces effectiveness of the cycle pilot project

To bike, or not to bike

You can’t do it if the routes don’t make sense, and that’s what the Tour De Nuit Society is telling city council.

The cycle promotion group conducted a study on the success of the pilot cycle track, and measuring its key goals.

President Gary Beaton says they found the routes confusing.

“I have no idea how they picked the bike lanes for this bike network, it looks like maybe they pinned the tail on the donkey.  It’s strange because they there’s not rhyme nor reason to which route they chose to put a bike lane on” said Beaton.

Beaton says that east-west bike lanes are desperately needed downtown, and the city should be going back to square one and re-planning the route.
