Lethbridge Little League team off to Nationals

A 3-0 record over five days helped Lethbridge punch their tickets to the National Little League Championships.

The southwestern reps outscored their opponents 30 to 5 during the provincial playoffs, which was capped with a 15-0 victory over the host Rocky Mountain Red Sox Wednesday night.

Alberta’s first game happens Friday August 1st against B.C. at 1:00 p.m. Mountain time.

The pacific province has sent Canada’s representative to Williamsport, Pennsylvania eight out of the last fourteen years.

Calgary West was the last Alberta team to represent Canada at the Little League World Series back in 2001.

They finished with a 1-2 record in Pool D, but failed to qualify for the knockout round.

Last year East Nepean Little League of Ottawa dawned the red and white; they had a win and two losses and lost to Panama in the second round of the International bracket 12-0 in four innings.
