Burnaby, B.C. man facing terror charge, accused of joining Islamist fighters in Syria

A Burnaby, B.C. man accused of going to Syria to join Islamist fighters faces terrorism related charges. The man is accused of leaving for the Middle Eastern country earlier this year.
Officially, Hasibullah Yusufzai is charged with committing an offence to benefit a terrorist group, or was directed by or associated with such a group.
Mounties say the 25-year-old left for Syria on January 21st, and accuse him of doing so to link up with Islamist fighters.
The RCMP has stated it’s collaborating with its partners internationally on the case.
This follows three Calgary men being linked with international extremist groups in recent months.
