Tornado confirmed northwest of Calgary

Environment Canada has confirmed the second tornado of the season in Alberta northwest of Calgary Friday.

Around 4:45 p.m. a very brief tornado was spotted south of Cremona.

Several reports and photos of the twister have come in and a dust cloud was spotted at the base of the funnel.

Sean called up from near Crossfield.

“There’s a funnel cloud that produced and continued to grow before it touched the ground,”  said Sean.

Environment Canada says no reports of damage have come in.

The thunderstorm has dissipated, and forecasters say no other tornadoes are expected this evening.
