Historic pick for the Flames

The Stanley Cup has been awarded now it’s time for teams to retool via the NHL draft.
The draft starts on June 27th in Philadelphia.
The Flames pick fourth, the highest in franchise history and if we’re going by consensus they could pick Aaron Ekblad, Sam Reinhart, Leon Draisaitl or Sam Bennett.
Peter Loubardias of Sportsnet said anything can happen.
“There’s absolutely no question that you’re going to have the chance to add another potential significant piece to the puzzle” he said. “There’s plenty of reason for optimism right now for the Flames and plenty of reasons to be excited for having that type of draft pick”.
He said there could be a lot of movement at the top of the board and the Flames could be one of the teams interested in moving up or down.
Loubardias said if theres a player outside the top four the Flames would look at, it might be the big bruising winger out of Peterborough Nick Ritchie.
