Police looking for NW robbery suspect

Police are hoping footage from security cameras will help them identify a suspect in an early morning robbery.

Around 1:30 Monday morning, a man entered the 7-11 at the 2600 block of Kensington Road N.W. and robbed the shop at gun point.

He made off with a number of lottery scratch tickets and the entire cash register.

Staff Sgt. Paul Wyatt said witnesses were able to provide a description of the robber.

“He’s a white male, 20-25 years of age, 5’5″, 150 pounds,” he said.

Wyatt says police attended the scene with the HAWCS Helicopter and the K9 unit, but could not locate the man.

He adds it’s believed the suspect took off in an unknown direction, possibly in a vehicle.

No injuries were reported, though Wyatt says the store’s employees were a bit shaken up.
