Airport tunnel to open in May

The new airport tunnel will be open to motorists May 25th.
Top city officials say the $295-million roadway is nearing the finish line after three years of hard work.
The 620-metre tunnel, extending from Deerfoot Trail to 36th Street N.E., is equipped with six lanes of traffic.
A special grand opening May 24th, will allow Calgarians to walk through the new roadway; the most expensive transportation project in city history.
There’s still one hurdle left to clear: city council has to negotiate with authorities at YYC to link the new tunnel to Metis Trail.
