Drinking and driving limit should change with age

There should be different rules about how much you can drink before you get behind the wheel of a car based on age, according to a new University of Florida study.

Researchers said people over the age of 55 should not drink at all because age diminishes the body’s ability to process alcohol.

They say a single glass of wine can leave a driver in their 50s, or older, impaired.

They are calling on politicians and law enforcement officials to reassess legal blood alcohol levels for all drivers.

The study is in the journal psychopharmacology.
