It was 100 years ago when one of arts biggest mysteries was solved.
On December 12th, 1913 police finally found the thief of the Mona Lisa.
Leonardo Da Vinci’s masterpiece was taken from the Louvre by a painter and handyman who briefly worked at the Paris museum.
Vincenzo Perugia hid in the building overnight and smuggled the art piece out. He then tried to sell it to a Florentine man declaring it belonged to Italy.
Perugia spent seven months in jail for the crime.
