Mayor Rob Ford beats Hulk Hogan in arm-wrestling match

TORONTO – Perhaps 14-time world wrestling champion Hulk Hogan did not take his vitamins Friday — with a Mayor Rob Ford “win” in a friendly arm-wrestling match.

The light-hearted event was held at a downtown Toronto hotel to help kick off Fan Expo.

Without a trace of irony, the 60-year-old wrestling superstar proclaimed the match to be “a setup.”

Ford walked into the room to Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” in a black suit. He wasted no time getting on stage, throwing off his suit jacket and tie, rolling up his sleeves and untucking his blue dress shirt.

Hogan, in a red T-shirt and trademark bandana, made a show of also rolling up a sleeve, before the two started in on the smack talk.

“Oh, big man, oh that’s all you got, huh?” Hogan shouted.

“Oh brother, you know something? Not only am I going to rip this arm off, I’m going to take your job while I’m at it, brother. Mayor Hogan.”

“I own this town, man,” Ford yelled.

The mayor leaped up from the table in victory, after throwing down Hogan’s arm in the 30-second face-off.

“I think if he gets tired of being mayor, he would be a great wrestler,” Hogan said after the “stunning” defeat.

What would the mayor’s wrestling name be?

“How about the ‘Fantastic Ford?'” Hogan said.

Though, the mayor is not quite willing to forfeit his day job, the golden-haired Hogan said he would love the city’s top job.

“Oh my gosh — I would love to be the mayor here. I love this city,” he said.

So, could there be a re-match in the near future? Not likely.

“I don’t know. He’s a pretty burly guy, let me tell you. His arms are the size of my legs,” Ford said.
