Actor Cory Monteith found dead in Vancouver hotel room

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Actor Cory Monteith has died. The Vancouver Police department held a press conference on Saturday night to announce the death.

His body was found in a hotel room at Vancouver’s Pacific Rim Hotel Saturday afternoon. The 31-year old was the star of Fox’s “Glee”.

Monteith was born in Calgary but raised in Victoria.

He was in a relationship with his Glee co-star, American actress Lea Michele.

In March, he voluntarily admitted himself into a treatment facility for substance addiction. He had previously received substance abuse treatment over a decade earlier, when he was 19-year’s old. He checked out of the rehab facility in April.

Several celebrities are already expressing shock on Twitter. Perez Hilton tweeted “In tears and in shock. My heart aches for the friends and family and fans worldwide of #CoryMonteith. Just numb right now.”
