Scotiabank Calgary Marathon this weekend

A rainy forecast isn’t getting in the way of Canada’s oldest marathon.

Crews are working on last minute setup for the 49th annual Scotiabank Calgary Marathon, kicking off at the Stampede grounds on Sunday.

Race organizers are hoping for some sunshine when the runners finally hit the pavement.

The Calgary Sun reports some runners are even going for world-record attempts.

Martin Parnell wants to claim the title of fastest marathon in a lacrosse uniform and a group of ten athletes, nicknamed “Team Mito,” are aiming to finish the race in under three hours running linked together.
