Newest lotto winner from Okotoks

A lotto dream for many has come true for an Okotoks man!

Chad Klepaychuk shared in a record lotto 6/49 jackpot, winning $15.8 million.

The 32-year-old refrigeration and air conditioning apprentice says he bought the ticket on a whim.

“We drove by the store on our way to my brother’s,” Chad recalled. “I had said that maybe I’d buy a ticket, but then I decided I wasn’t going to. My wife said I should, and so we stopped.”

“We were watching the news the next morning, and they said there was a winner in Alberta, and showed the numbers. I checked the ticket and saw we had all the numbers! I was in complete disbelief,” he adds.

Klepaychuk has already quit his job and would like to buy a new truck and maybe some ocean front property among other things, adding his wife likely has a longer ‘to buy’ list than him.
