Bush fire in Calgary’s southwest

Fire crews are on the scene of a large brush fire blazing near Fish Creek Park.

660 listener Brent spotted the flames as he traveled along 37th Street near 146th Avenue SW.

“It’s gotten into the heavy timber in the area. I do not think there’s a road in there. There is a helicopter on site getting ready to start dropping water real quick,” says Brent.

The fire is burning in the southeast corner of the Tsuu T’ina Reserve and callers to 660News say there are some homes in the area.

The fire department reports at least five pieces of apparatus are on the scene battling the blaze.
