Big Rock Brewery has big plans for 2013.
According to its CEO, Bob Sartor, who’s celebrating his first anniversary with the regional beer maker, the company will launch 15 new brews this year.
First off the production line is Erratic Stone Fired Ale, an old German concoction in which heated stones are dropped in the kettle.
Sartor is the former head of the Forzani’s Sport Chek empire, which was taken over by Canadian Tire in 2011.
He tells the Calgary Herald, former managers at Big Rock focused on increasing volume growth. But Sartor plans on taking a different approach. His plans for Big Rock include producing quality craft beer and making it the pre-eminent craft brewery in the country.
