The Wildrose party is out to reform the Redford government by strengthening the Conflict of Interest Act.

The official opposition party is proposing strengthening the Office of the Ethics Commissioner so he can initiate his own investigations with out a formal complaint filed.

Wildrose Justice Critic Shayne Saskiw is also hoping to expand how a conflict of interest is defined.

“This would keep a minister accountable when they get off on technicalities instead of following the spirit of the law, finally, we are recommending toughening the cooling off period listed in the legislation,” said Saskiw.
