Pair of sudden death investigations underway outside Calgary

The death of a man on a reserve near Rocky Mountain House has RCMP investigating.

The body of 44-year old Ronald Jack Mitchell was found in a residence on the O’Chiese Reserve early Wednesday morning after RCMP officers were called to the scene.

The Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Section are assisting in the investigation.

Police are waiting for an autopsy to be done to determine the cause of death.

Meanwhile, police in Lethbridge are now investing after a man, who was assaulted last weekend, died in hospital.

The 63-year old died Wednesday, though it’s unknown if it was a result of the assault.

Police say the man was beat-up by two others while he was walking down the street Saturday afternoon.

The two alleged assailants emerged from a vehicle to confront the victim.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday in Calgary.
