ANDP holding summit in Calgary

Alberta’s NDP are hoping to get their input in on Alberta’s budget at a summit in Calgary.

All four New Democrat MLA’s have been making rounds around the province as part of their ‘Broken Promises Budget Tour’, looking for the public’s input.

NDP leader Brian Mason says the issue of raising a sales tax will be a big question posed to those who attend.

“I think the general consensus is that they would prefer to have an end to the flat tax and an increase in corporate income tax as opposed to a sales tax that hits middle class families harder,” said Mason.

The summit is at the Kahanoff Centre on 12th Avenue southeast at 7 p.m. Thursday evening and everyone is welcome.
