Things to do in Calgary on Family Day

There are many options around the city to keep every member of the family entertained for the holiday Monday.

You can grab your skates and head over to the Olympic Oval for a free family skate from 12-4 p.m.

Admission is free with a donation to the Calgary Food Bank.

In addition to free skating on one of the world’s best ice surfaces, there will also be bouncy houses for the kids, face-painting, arts and crafts and demonstrations of speed skating and precision skating.

Plus, there’s a free freezer pack hand out to the first 2,000 guests.

Fort Calgary is hosting their Winter Carnival Monday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

They’ll have free hot chocolate while you enjoy events like carnival games and crafts, theatre plays, a treasure hunt and maple candy making while the kids learn about Calgary’s past.

Best of all, admission is free for everyone.

The Rocky Ridge Royal Oak Community Association is hosting a Last Chance for a Middle School Family Rally at the Rocky Ridge Ranch from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. where there will be skating, music, and hot chocolate.

There is also free skating at the Frank McCool, Henry Viney, Jimmie Condon, Murray Copot, Optimist and Shouldice arenas from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
