Monday could be a day many people spend with their family, but for a little Innisfail girl, her Family Day is spent getting ready for a new lease on life.
Four-year-old Brooke Aubuchon suffers from batten disease- a rare and deadly nervous system disorder.
Tuesday her family will head to New York to have some tests done to make sure that she is fit enough to handle a gene therapy that could help reverse the effects of the disease.
According to the Calgary Sun, if her tests go well she can start the life-saving surgery on February 26th.
