Police have issued a warning to the public on the release of a high risk offender.

55-year-old Alan Neil Bathgate was released in the Calgary area Wednesday after serving a just over three year prison sentence.

Bathgate has a history of sexual assault, sexual interference and performing indecent acts in public against female children and adults.

He will now be monitored by the Calgary police service high risk offender program.
