SAIT criticized for salary boosts, bonuses

SAIT is being blasted for giving generous salary hikes and bonuses to school executives.

A report shows the post secondary school’s three vice-presidents each received a 26 per cent salary increase in the 2011-2012 year.

Each V.P. was also handed a $58,000 bonus.

Doug Spurgeon, President of the Faculty Association, says it’s obscene, especially when the school is claiming poverty.

A SAIT spokesperson tells The Calgary Herald, the salaries were adjusted to keep them consistent with similar positions at other schools.
