City Aldermen are pushing for the city to figure out who’s responsible for public art at city roundabouts.

Alderman Peter Demong says since the traffic circles seem to be the choice going forward in many Calgary neighbourhoods, the city should be thinking about whether they also plan to beautify them.

Demong says they also need to figure out who will be paying for the maintenance of any public art that is installed.

Alderman Shane Keating tells The Calgary Sun, one solution may be to put money into an insurance policy or a pool to cover repair or removal.
