Breeder charged with docking pups tails

A Calgary breeder has been fined after a puppy in her care was put down after its tail was docked.

Peggy Anderson was found to have cut the tails of a littler of boxer pups and was charged last year.  Last week she pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay $2500.

She also cannot own puppies under six months of age or breed dogs for five years.

Several of the dockings were performed incorrectly causing medical distress to the puppies.

The Calgary Humane Society says a veterinary clinic treating the severely injured pup called authorities to report the incident.
