Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to host Golden Globes from Beverly Hills

Golden-Globe winner Tina Fey and Golden-Globe nominee Amy Poehler are set to host the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards Sunday, celebrating the best in international television and film this year.

The award show will go live from Los Angeles at 8 p.m., with the new pair of hosts expected to breathe new life into the show, taking over from Ricky Gervais.

The show is known for its relaxed and casual atmosphere, perhaps partly due to the fact that it is the only award show where alcohol is served all night.

“It’s going to be a night of partying and heavy drinking, or as Charlie Sheen calls it, breakfast,” joked Gervais at last year’s show.

The awards, which began way back in January 1944, are one of the major parts of the film industry’s annual award season, and feature many of the biggest name stars from all around the world.

This year’s award show will be hosted at the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in, you guessed it, Beverly Hills.

“The unparalleled comedic timing of Tina and Amy will surely have viewers wanting to tune-in to see them in action,” said Golden Globes’ chief Dr. Aida Takla-O’Reilly.

Nominations for the award show were announced on December 13, with Argo, Django Unchained, Life of Pi, Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty winning nominations for best drama.

Lincoln leads all films with seven nominations, with Argo and Django Unchained coming in next with five nominations.

Game Change leaves television with five nominations with Homeland coming in second with four nominations.
