MADD urges people to plan ahead

It is a phrase we have heard over and over again, “don’t drink and drive” and Mothers Against Drunk Driving is urging people to listen to the message.

MADD spokesperson Denise Dubyk says people need to plan ahead and arrange for a driver because the risk is too high if you drive drunk.

“If you want to go out and have a great time and you wanna drink that’s fine, that’s your business, but once you get behind the wheel of a vehicle it becomes our business, the public’s business because we are not safe on the roads then,” said Dubyk.

She says people need to plan ahead by arranging for a designated driver, taking city transit or if at a house party, staying overnight.
