Three men were taken to hospital after being struck by a train while doing maintenance northeast of Edmonton Wednesday morning.
A CN spokesperson confirmed two contractors for CN Rail were critically injured, while the third man suffered minor injuries just after 9:00 a.m.
Edmonton Police Acting Sgt. Terry Cassells said the men were wearing ear protection and didn’t hear the approaching train sound its horn.
A CN investigation into the crash is underway.
Occupational Health and Safety will also be investigating because the men were working when the accident happened.
