A Calgary teacher may be facing charges of sexual assault and interference against a student but she still appears to have support from some parents.
The Rideau Park educator is accused of having a year-long relationship with a 14-year-old boy, however some say no matter what the outcome, her good work shouldn’t be forgotten.
Lisa Poole, president of the school’s council, says she was a well-loved teacher, had a loyal following and made a big contribution to the school.
Some parents tell The Calgary Herald they don’t want to undermine the charges but hope they’re untrue.
They also say they are sticking to the mindset of innocent until proven guilty.
