Federal ridings in our city will be getting an overhaul in the coming months and Calgarians are going to have to get used to a few name changes.

The final report released Wednesday, December 12, from Alberta’s Federal Electoral Boundary Commission, says “Calgary Skyview” is among name changes.

Skyview will replace the title for “Calgary McCall” in the city’s northeast.

The Commission also altered some city riding boundaries and reunites Whitehorn and Temple in the riding of Calgary Skyview.

The final draft of the proposal sees two new federal ridings in Calgary for a total of 10; with the province’s steady growth, the current 28 ridings will increase to 34.
