It’s a sad time for the Calgary Stampeders after one of the first to pull on a red and white sweater over his head has passed away.

Harry Hobbs died December 6th in Edmonton at the age of 87.

He’s credited with making the first touchdown pass in Stamp’s history, a 60 yard toss during the 1945 West Divisional Final.

Hobbs also had a stint playing for the Eskimos.

A service celebrating his life will be held in Edmonton at the Royal Mayfair Golf and Country Club on Saturday.
