Just as the West LRT line is finished, so is the facelift for the downtown C-Train corridor.

Five years and $183-million worth of work included the replacement of ten LRT stations, replacing lighting, sidewalks and streetscapes

Transportation minister Ric McIver tells the Calgary Sun, it’s an investment integral to the wellbeing of Calgarians.

Over the years, city officials have said the upgrade was also important in reducing crime along the 7th Avenue corridor.  

Some 185,000 trips per day are made on the route in and out of the downtown core.
