Frustrated Calgary drivers are being told to get used to traffic congestion.

Mayor Naheed Nenshi says it’s not likely we’ll have the money for future mega-projects like those being brainstormed to ease driving headaches on Crowchild Trail.

Nenshi says the Calgary of his youth, where you could get anywhere in the city in 20 minutes, is long gone.

A recent city satisfaction survey found traffic and congestion were the top concerns in Calgary.

Nenshi tells The Calgary Herald, even if the money to fix the problems was there, he’s not sure wider roads would be the solution but better transit would.
