A three alarm building fire in Bridgeland forced the evacuation of several homes in the area Wednesday night.

Fire crews responded to 6A Street to reports of large flames and smoke around 9 p.m.

The blaze at a two-story duplex under construction caused minor heat damage to surrounding homes before it was put out.

Fire crews remained on scene overnight investigating the cause of the flames.

No injuries have been reported and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
