An Alberta MLA is being forced to pay back $10,000 in expenses racked up her first months in office.

Tourism, Parks and Recreation Minister Christine Cusanelli is coming under fire by critics who say she’s too cavalier with public dollars.

Among the costs racked up include a $4,000 airfare charge to have her mother and daughter fly with her to the London Olympics.

Chief of Staff Andrew Fisher tells The Calgary Herald the expectation was always that she would pay the funds for the plane tickets back right away; which she did.
