Four men are facing first-degree murder charges after police in Edmonton and Saskatoon linked three homicides to organized crime.
Two 22-year-olds from Lloydminster, one from Edmonton, and one from Wainwright are charged with first-degree murder.
RCMP believe the murders can be traced back to a gang called the ‘White Boy Posse,’ with drug ties in Northern Alberta, Saskatoon and the Northwest Territories.
The homicides include the murder of 33-year-old Saskatoon mother Lorry Ann Santos in September.
Saskatoon police officer Clive Weighill said they believe the alleged killers mistakenly shot and killed Santos when she answered the door at her home.
“We didn’t know if it was a wrong address, or if there was reason for them to go to that house, and as it turns out it was a wrong address,” he said.
The gang has also been linked to the discovery of the body of a 35-year-old man northwest of Lloydminster, as well as a decapitated head found in an Edmonton alleyway in October.
