Early morning first-degree murder charges have been laid against two people in relation to the death of Calgary dad, Ryan Lane.
The 24-year-old was last seen in February in the Country Hills Blvd area.
Investigators have not released the names of those charged, but police will likely update the media sometime Friday.
Earlier this week, police revealed they were zeroing in on three suspects, all of whom they said were not cooperating.
Lane’s skeletal remains were found last week at an undisclosed location.
The discovery ends a nine-month search in several remote areas, many northeast of the city.
Lane’s parents then made a tearful plea to the public, asking anyone with information to come forward to police.
His mother Lorraine read a prepared statement that detailed how much her son loved his daughter.
According to investigators, Lane disappeared shortly after being reunited with his child.
The 24-year-old single dad wanted visitation rights, which had just been approved by the court.
It’s believed he received a call late one night from someone who told him he could help with his custody battle.
There are reports Sheena Rempel, the mother of his little girl, and her brother-in-law were arrested Thursday, a day after Rempel’s husband Tim was taken into custody in Grande Prairie.
