The Calgary Hitmen are hoping to fill the ice with the holiday spirit of giving this weekend.
The 18th annual Petro Canada Teddy Bear Toss game will be played on Sunday when the Hitmen host the Kootenay Ice.
Fans are being asked to bring a new stuffed toy or two and toss it onto the ice when they score their first goal.
All the donations will go towards a number of local charities for the holiday season including the Cerebral Palsy Association, Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Clubs, and the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
Over 25,000 bears were collected at last year’s Teddy Bear Toss game.
