Most Canadians are on top of holiday spending, but some still say they’ll go into debt this season.

A new report by BMO says 12 per cent of Canadians and seven per cent of Albertans will take on debt to buy holiday gifts.

Vice President Janet Peddigrew says there are strategies you can use to make sure you’re spending within your means.
 
She suggests putting a holiday specific budget in place, and setting clear limits on spending.

Rewards programs can also help you buy more without spending outside of your budget.
