Two pedestrians are counting their lucky stars Thursday, after almost being hit by a service truck that slammed into a downtown building.

Around noon hour, a one-ton truck drove up and over a sidewalk, narrowly missing two people walking by.

Calgary Fire’s Larry Fisher says there is some structural damage to a storage area of the building in the 800 block of 4 Avenue S.W.

“No injuries occurred on scene, and the structural integrity of the building is fine. An engineer was called in to determine the safety of the building,” says Fisher.

Calgary Police are investigating what caused the truck to drive into the building.
