The Alberta Medical Association is preparing to meet with physician leaders in Edmonton to fight for their rights.

AMA president Dr. Michael Giuffre says the forum will be held December 15th.

These kinds of meetings are usually held twice a year in the fall or spring; the last took place in Edmonton in September.

But Calgary physician Dr. Lloyd Maybaum, who plans to attend, tells The Calgary Herald, they have a great deal that needs to be talked about.

The snap meeting has been called as the province’s doctors are locked in an ongoing dispute with the government over compensation.
