The results of a new poll are a good sign for supporters of the Keystone XL pipeline.

The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers found 82 per cent of Americans think pipelines are a safe way to move oil and 72 per cent don’t know why plans haven’t been approved yet.

VP of Communications at CAPP, Janet Annseley, tells 660News says she’s not too surprised with the confidence Americans have in Canada’s oil industry.

“Canada is well recognized for our environmental awareness, for the care, for also the regulations that we have in place and for the responsibility that we display towards the environment,” says Annseley.

Annesley says both countries use oil and discussion around the pipeline project should focus on where and how we are going to get it, not whether we should be using it.
